Quickies: Madonna, The Weeknd, Machine Gun Kelly & More

MADONNA GOES TOPLESS & POSES WITH HER CRUTCH: Madonna took to Instagram on Monday night to post a selfie she took in her bathroom. Madonna went topless in the photo, wearing just her black underwear, a hat, and some jewelry. She also leaned on her crutch and captioned the photo, “Everyone has a Crutch……………. 🛠.” Madonna has been using crutches for the past few months while recovering from a knee injury that she has been battling ever since she launched her Madame X Tour last year. Last month, she was spotted using crutches while attending a Black Lives Matter protest in London.

THE WEEKND’S ‘IN YOUR EYES’ (REMIX) VIDEO WITH DOJA CAT RELEASED: The Weeknd and Doja Cat have created an animated music video for their “In Your Eyes (Remix)” collab, taken from the The Weeknd’s latest album After Hours. Helmed by Jeron Braxton, the surreal visual is set in a futuristic environment. The Weeknd can be seen sporting his signature look for the album – a red suit and a bloody nose with sunglasses – driving around the city as Doja Cat appears as a holographic AI. Although their surrounding environment is portrayed as futuristic, it reflects society today with phrases such as “ENDLE$$ CONSUMPTION” and “SMILE YOUR ON CAMEA” presented a billboards.

MACHINE GUN KELLY MOURNS FATHER: Machine Gun Kelly is mourning the death of his father. The rapper, real name Colson Baker, announced his father’s death on Sunday. Kelly said that he was originally set to celebrate the one-year anniversary of his fourth studio album, Hotel Diablo. “That album was everything I wanted to say and I know it’s close to my fans…but my father took his last breath this morning,” Kelly said. “I’ve never felt a pain this deep in my life. I’m setting my phone down. Love you. Thank you guys for everything.” Kelly did not specify a cause of death.

SAM SMITH RELEASES EMOTIONAL COVER OF COLDPLAY’S ‘FIX YOU’: After first performing a moving cover of Coldplay’s “Fix You” as part of the iHeartRadio Living Room Series back in May, Sam Smith has released their version of the song. “Thank you @Coldplay for writing such a beautiful song,” Smith wrote alongside a brief clip of the emotional, stripped-down performance. Though their album titled To Die For was originally slated to be released earlier this year, it was pushed back and its title scrapped as the global pandemic set in. A new title and release date have yet to be confirmed.

LEWIS CAPALDI AUCTIONING OFF SIGNED DESIGNER TRACKSUIT TOP TO RAISE FUNDS FOR CALM: Lewis Capaldi’s signed Fred Perry tracksuit top is being auctioned off on eBay to raise funds for suicide prevention charity CALM. The Scottish singer has recreated the music video for his hit “Before You Go” and only used items from small businesses who sell via the online auctioning site for the promo. In a bid to raise funds for CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) and to get people spending their money at small retailers, he is putting the Sheanie’s Vintage top under the hammer. The eBay auction begins tonight and wraps July 13th.
